beside the seaside

Blackpool. How I love your charm and your stick of rock.I went there today with school to the Pleasure Beach.First time I've been there since I was teeny and it was also the first time going on upside down rides.Despite the nerves and screams, roller coasters are now currently my new favourite adrenaline rush. Its better than the rush I get from those first steps of stepping onto the stage to act and seeing the lights go on me.It was exhilarating ; the smell of fish and chips wafting past me whilst the sea breeze blew violently against my hair.So violently that it blew off my friends head scarf-we laughed as well.Infusion was the ride me and my friend loved. We loved how it twisted and turned unexpectedly-just like life itself.Ronan Keating you are a genius!

Another rollercoaster we endured was the Grand national.I felt like I was on a ride to death! I clashed heads with my friend,my bum went num and I nearly got my head chopped off by an overhead bridge which was just short of 15cm above me.

We also loved the adventurous water ride we embarked on called Valhalla. It was like a magical Disneyland ride, creeping into little different caves which were lit up by pink lights. However some caverns weren't lit at all ,which was scary when there were sudden drops! If you ever go on this ride, lets just say if you wear a waterproof jacket or those plastic ponchos that you can get for a quid, you wont come out dry.We were all so
soaked to the bone and sat in wet clothes for a 3 hour journey back home.

where them party people at?

Ok. So last night was pretty wild.Just like my outfit! It was a leopard print playsuit £10 in the River Island Sale! Along with my £16 Primark tan heels and a £14  peace sign necklace from Urban Outfitters- which my boyfriend kindly got me.

It was my best friends birthday/house party.Mix alcohol and a bouncy castle and this is what you get...

                                                                                                                                                     peace.

best is yet to come.

My AS Theatre Studies class, took part in the Young Theatres Project at West Yorkshire Playhouse. We had just under two weeks to devise a piece centred on the idea of dreams,  ambitions ,aspirations and success. Other schools took part too and it was interesting to see how our ideas developed from 4 little words. Each group had a professional theatre practitioner who specialised in a type of theatre E.g musical theatre. My drama class got a South African physical theatre practitioner called Lucy, A.k.a Lovely Lucy for she was loverly and it was her catchphrase along with the word 'Brillaint!'.She is from the very lively theatre group Slung Low and her crazy ideas helped to craft our piece, turning out wonderful.

The basic principle of our piece was based on the idea that when you were younger you had these beautiful aspirations that were almost impossible to achieve but you still thought I will be that when I'm older. There's also a sense of realisation in the piece that as you get older your once favoured dream become's lost to society's norms of how you should aspire have a sensible career like being a doctor (or an accountant if you have the will power!). Therefore we had to think back to what we all wanted to be when we were little nippers.I was a typical child, aspiring and seeing myself in every job underneath the sun.The one that stands out for its absolute absurdity was wanting to become a wrestler. You read it right alright! Me, a person who couldn't hurt a fly, wanted to be a wrestler! It makes me laugh now but then I was deadly serious.

One idea that was used in the piece was to map out your morning routine before you leave the house in a walk.As we figured out our own individual paths we did it at the same time and it almost looked like we were individuals walking down down a busy high street, each with our own focused (sometimes interrupted if we bumped into someone) career paths.Setting it to the song Rain drops keep falling on my head by Burt Bacharach, then the gate of our walks becomes much more springy and full of positive energy. As if we were children again, thinking we could be whatever we wanted to be.

If you think that's deep and an abstract way of  thinking, then I won't go into what else we did but I do hope that this has given you a flavour of what we performed.Well if my Grandma Dot got it,then I'm sure you would!
