Birthday Boy George

By George! I was gob smacked to hear that my fellow workplace,George at Asda is now celebrating it's milestone of 21 golden years of being in the fashion business. Yes it's been 21 years since the company's designer George Davies first opened George in Leicester in May 1990 and from then on plummeting affordable fashion onto the landscape. Ooo and just for the record, Asda were the first major supermarket in the UK to launch their own clothing range. Who'd of thought you would be putting palazzo trousers in between bread and milk on your shopping list?!

To celebrate, George has created a fun and flattering birthday collection. The collection looks great and as always George hasn't lazily created cookie-cutter catwalk pieces, the brand designer's have worked to translate key seasonal trends into wearable and affordable styles.A truly classic example is the racy red cropped trousers inspired by a leather Isabel Marant Style from last season, which have been famously spotted on Victoria Beckham, Elle Macpharson and Katie Holmes.The designers thought about their George customers whole heartedly and opted that leather would be too outré for them so a cotton sateen fabric was picked.

As featured in Grazia Magazine, my favourite item from the celebratory collection, has to be this utterly elegant coral a-line prom dress with a pretty lace overlay.It has an  eyecatching classic shape with a contemporary twist on design.
